@ben - I'm curious - what are the sectors that you would think will be spared, perhaps even against the grain. So for example, we know writing/research and basically the entire internship position will be eliminated, but what about partnerships, business development...I see a world where for example, the "hot" thing are products not produced by AI, a sort of counterculture - or am I reading too much sci fi these days
BD and Partnerships are going to be much harder for AI to automate or replace, but a great Partnerships person will use AI to help increase their outreach and manage a lot more clients per person. This could result in a few BD people being needed per org.
Well thats nice to know, at least for my working lifetime...but for my daughters, seems there will be two caste systems. the 1% who still have a job in a 100 years, and the 99% of the rest who won't. I wonder if that will affect people going to school more than anything else. Damn, the implications are endless. Thanks for the reply!
@ben, this is all so helpful, thank you for this round-up. I'm the co-founder of Sleuth, a search engine for children's health (in stealth-ish, launching in 6 weeks). We use ML to analyze hundreds of thousands of children's health journeys we get directly from parents and share back the insights to parents of similar kids. We actually spoke to the OpenAI team a few weeks ago about what we're building since there's such clear synergies. Would love to connect with you if you're open to it. (I'm at Sehreen@helloseuth.com)
Many years ago ay school I was told that by the year 2000 our work would be done by robots and our problem would be what to do with our leisure time. I tried to help make that happen but am still waiting.

The genie is indeed out of the proverbial bottle, and it is not going back in. We are at a watershed moment.
Fantastic newsletter, Ben! I look forward to more. Sharing it now with others, including an edtech founder I know well at Fanschool.
🙏 Thank you
Receiver here. I've been experimenting with AI, and I am amazed at what it can now do. I'd love to talk to you. Let's have a call. Happy New Year.
